Background of the Study
Community radio stations play an essential role in fostering local communication, promoting cultural values, and engaging communities in development initiatives. In Birnin Kebbi LGA, Kebbi State, community radio has emerged as a significant tool for preserving and promoting cultural heritage. By broadcasting programs that highlight local traditions, languages, and customs, community radio stations contribute to strengthening cultural identity and enhancing social cohesion. This study explores the role of community radio in promoting cultural heritage in Birnin Kebbi, with a particular focus on how radio programming can be used to safeguard traditional practices, educate younger generations, and encourage cultural pride.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Cultural heritage in many parts of Nigeria, including Birnin Kebbi LGA, faces threats from modernization, urbanization, and the influence of foreign cultures. As a result, younger generations may be disconnected from their cultural roots, leading to the erosion of traditional practices and values.
